Please read these terms carefully before using our services and marketplace.
1. About Pine
Pine is an agricultural marketplace that connects verified Nigerian farmers and livestock suppliers directly with households, caterers, restaurants, and food businesses. We operate as a technology intermediary facilitating transactions, logistics coordination, and payments on behalf of buyers and sellers.
By creating an account or using any part of the Pine platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and any other guidelines we publish from time to time.
2. Eligibility
To use our platform, you must meet the following requirements:
You must be at least 18 years old or have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
You must provide accurate personal information and keep it updated at all times on the platform.
You must not use the platform for any illegal or unauthorised purpose for using our services.
3. Account Registration
3.1 General
You must create an account to access most features on the Pine platform. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration, and to keep your account details up to date. Pine reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.
3.2 Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access to or use of your account.
4. Orders & Pricing
All orders placed through the platform are subject to availability. Pine reserves the right to decline or cancel an order at any time for operational reasons.
Market-Rate Prices
Prices on Pine are updated daily to reflect current farm gate and market rates. We are transparent about price changes and will always show the final price before you confirm a purchase.
5. Livestock Sharing
Pine offers livestock pool purchases that allow multiple buyers to jointly purchase a whole animal and each receive a proportional share of the processed meat. Participation is governed by the following terms:
Application
To join a pool, users submit a participation request and pay their share upfront. Participation is confirmed only when the pool is fully funded by the closing date. Pools that do not reach their target within the set window are cancelled and all contributions are fully refunded.
Financing
Pool pricing is agreed upon at the time of joining and is not subject to change after payment. Your portion of the processed animal will be delivered as a fresh, unprocessed quantity based on confirmed pool shares and animal weight.
6. Pine Assistant
Pine Bot is an AI-powered procurement assistant available to all registered users. By using Pine Bot, you consent to the collection and use of your platform activity data to generate personalised recommendations, price alerts, and reorder suggestions.
Automated Recommendations
Pine Bot may suggest products, flag price drops, or initiate reorders based on your buying history and stated preferences. You may disable automation at any time in settings.
Information Accuracy
Pine Bot responses are AI-generated and for informational purposes. Always verify availability and pricing at checkout. Pine is not liable for decisions made solely on Pine Bot recommendations.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Pine shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunities, or goodwill arising out of or relating to the use of the Services.
Except where liability cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, Pine's total aggregate liability arising from any claim relating to the Services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the user to Pine during the six (6) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, violation of applicable consumer protection laws, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
⚠ This section constitutes a fundamental term of the agreement. By using Pine, you expressly agree to these limitations.
